Dr. Olivia Hsin (pronounced “Shin”) is a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in the assessment and treatment of children and adolescents with medical, mental health, and neurodevelopmental disorders. She received her B.A. from Wellesley College and her M.S. and Ph.D. at the University of Miami, under the mentorship of Dr. Annette La Greca, a leader in the field of pediatric psychology. Dr. Hsin was selected to complete her pre-doctoral clinical internship /fellowship at Harvard Medical School / Massachusetts General Hospital where she focused on therapy and neuropsychological evaluations of youths with complex comorbid medical and psychiatric diagnoses. She also completed two years of postdoctoral fellowship at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, through the Center for Autism Research. Dr. Hsin has taught at University of Miami, Simmons College School of Nursing and Health Sciences and College of Arts and Sciences, and Occidental College. Dr. Hsin previously worked at Rady Children's Hospital San Diego where she conducted assessments and also conducts treatment for feeding disorders and is currently a psychologist at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.
Having trained in Miami, Dr. Hsin has worked frequently with families of diverse backgrounds and has particular interest in providing culturally-sensitive evidence-based assessment and treatment. As a clinical fellow in the Department of Psychiatry program at Harvard Medical School / Massachusetts General Hospital, Dr. Hsin conducted neuropsychological assessments of children with symptoms of psychological disorders, autism spectrum disorders, learning disorders, and other neuropsychological deficits. She also provided evidence-based individual and family therapy to families who had children with complex medical and/or psychiatric conditions. At the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Dr. Hsin specialized in the assessment of youths with autism spectrum disorders at the Center for Autism Research and also conducted neuropsychological assessments.
Dr. Olivia Hsin has presented locally, nationally, and internationally on the treatment and assessment of diverse youths with psychiatric disorders, medical disorders and autism spectrum disorders. Dr. Hsin has previously served on the advisory board of the ALANA Program of the Harvard Medical School Department of Psychiatry, which provides support and multicultural discourse among psychology trainees of the Harvard Medical School affiliated hospitals. She also served as an operations officer for the Pride@CHOP LGBTQ Resource Group at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, a group that provides the CHOP medical community with education regarding LGBTQ issues to make the environment a positive space for diverse patient families and employees.
